General information about this course
The Degree of Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) is a non-residential Professional doctoral degree in Christian Ministry. it is designed to enhance professional competence of pastors and other- Christian workers wo are engaged in diverse forms of Christian ministries through an integrated process of study and theological reflections. Through creative, contextual and transformation oriented continuing theological education, it aims to contribute towards renewal of the church and society as a whole.
Eligibility
a. The candidate must have M.Th. or B.D. or MCS degree of the Senate of Serampore College
b. A candidate with M. Div degree (ATA) or its equivalent recognized by the Senate of Serampore College shall register for D. Min subject to passing of four subjects qualifying exams of the Senate with a minimum of 55% marks in one sitting and shall have not more than two changes to pass the examination; and five years of Christian ministerial experience.
c. M.Th degree from ATA or its equivalent recognised by the Senate with minimum of three years of ministerial experience.
d. A minimum of three years of ministerial experience after M. Th. or M.C.S. and five years after B.D. degree or any other degree recognized by the Senate
e. A formal letter from the Head of the Church/ Institution granting permission to register for the D.Min
f. A candidate must pass the Entrance Examination conducted by the Senate of Serampore College in one sitting and shall have not more than three chances to pass the examination with a B- grade.
g. The Entrance examination shall be based on the area of “Ministerial and Missiological Challenges in India”, It is to assess the candidate’s ability to comprehend contextual issues, sensitivity to the struggles of the community and respond to emerging challenges to the ministry.
h. The application for admission to the Entrance examination shall be received by the Registrar of the Senate of Serampore College and also a copy ot the same shall be sent to the Dean, Department of Research/ SATHRI not later than 15th August each year. The DMIN Entrance Examination shall be conducted in October-November every year.
ATA M.Div to D.Min Studies Qualifying Examination (Four Papers) qualifiers need not to appear for D.Min Entrance Examination, they may join D.Min. Studies directly
